Dear Zambian,
How are you doing today? Just write to explain to you a number of things that we would like you to seriously consider and ponder on so that you can do your part and act. First of all I want you to think about the issue of racial discrimination which is an ill evil against humanity. What are you doing about it as a responsible citizen of this wonderful Christian nation? What views have those over this matter and what are you doing to explain and make them understand the dangers and consequences of racism be it at the place of work, church, sports club, organisation, political party etc? How do you feel about tribalism and discrimination of people in your country based on tribe? How do you treat foreigners from DR Congo, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola, Rwanda etc? Do you or any body related to you ever wishes to travel to another country? How would you love to be treated if you has travelled to another country outside Zambia? How would you want your relatives and friends to be treated if they are outside of this great country? How would you feel to be denied a job or to be dinied to date or marry someone because of your tribe? If you wouldn't feel good do not do it to another person or if you see someone telling there friends to say "but you are Bemba why do you want to hire or marry a Tonga person?" "Or you are Kaonde why do you want to date some gut from Kinshasa or from Kigali?" I want you think about this, are you sure you or your relations will never travel? Are you sure your children or grand children will never travel? Answer this question in your heart and act upon it.
I write to you in the wake of the International Day of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Join the fight by being nice to people who are not your country men or your race. Invite them for a movie or for a drink and share views on any particular subject matter and learn from their different point of view. Avoid post that are targeted at racial or tribal discrimination on social media or any other platforms. Expose the dangers of racial and tribal discrimination and teach others in your house neighborhood, community and country to do the same. Help foreigners and people from other races enjoy their stay in your neighbourhood, community and nation and you will add a remarkable contribution in this country thank you for reading this letter and for thinking about all the things written in it and above all thank you for your positive decision to act upon this and fight allike forms of discrimination.
